John Smith is the Senior Vice President for CareerBuilder, the nation’s largest online job site and the global leader in human capital solutions. In this position, Smith is charged with developing recruitment strategies for CareerBuilder’s Fortune 500 clients as well as internal sales strategies and programs to drive the company’s profitability and maximize market share. Smith’s leadership is one of the key contributors to a company that continually outpaces its industry in revenue growth.

Smith joined CareerBuilder in 2002 and held a variety of positions prior to becoming Senior Vice President, including national account sales, Area Sales Manager and VP of Recruiters business unit. Smith holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business and an undergraduate degree from West Virginia University.

As Chief Development Officer, Hope Gurion is in charge of identifying and growing new business ventures for the company. In addition to overseeing investments in opportunities to expand the services CareerBuilder provides to its customers, Gurion spearheads CareerBuilder.com’s lobbying efforts in Washington D.C. to address critical Internet and human resource issues. She also manages several service and product lines, including advertising, creative services, social media, SEO and CareerBuilder’s niche sites, including WorkInRetail.com, Sologig.com, CareerRookie.com. Prior to joining CareerBuilder.com, Gurion held a variety of marketing and business development roles for America Online and Discovery Communications. Gurion holds an MBA degree from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
